IT'S IN THE DETAILS

Yesterday I got an email from my wedding photographer Lyndsey Fagerlund and she let me know that MY WEDDING was featured on the Utah Bride And Groom Website!! How cool is that?! I was pretty excited. I loved my wedding (shocker I know), but I am so happy that so many others can see it now. I put so much love and time into all of the details- as did all of the wonderful friends and family that helped me. Lyndsey is an amazing photographer and definitely captured the day beautifully.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I am spending it sewing curtains, cleaning my home, writing up instructions for some classes my mom will be teaching soon, AND painting some signs for customers. Busy busy busy around here!

HUMP DAY

It's Wednesday everybody and that means it is hump day... so to help get you over the hump here is a cute video from our wedding day that just came in the mail:)

First let me tell you- when I was planning my wedding one of the things I knew I "needed" was a videographer. I had seen so many amazing videos and had heard from so many people that their favorite thing from their wedding day is having that video so that they can see what was actually happening instead of all posed pictures. So as I was planning I knew I wanted one, but I also knew I did not want to spend a fortune...so eventually I had basically given up on finding one when I found Don Garrett from Hobble Creek Media on a google search. And he was only charging around $500.00!!! It was my happy day because seriously guys so many cost AT LEAST $1500.00, which was not worth it to me when there were so many other aspects of the wedding that had to be paid for. Don was so great to work with and was so invested in his work and I am so happy I found him... And it might be just me, but I think he did just a good a job (or better) as any of the other videos I've seen!

Hope you loved it. I know I do. :)

WERKKIN' IT

For real. I have been working so much lately. On Monday was Labor Day and I was supposed to work, but at the last minute I didn't have to. Let me tell you... it was HEAVEN! Seriously. I had NOTHING to do for the first time in it seems like forever. I started out by throwing on some sweats, taking a nap, then cleaned and felt SO good afterwards. I was actually rested when I woke up the next morning.

So anyways... on the topic of working I have started a new adventure! I opened an ETSY shop called YouAreMyHappyShop. I am so so excited to see how I can grow it eventually. I am not taking myself too seriously. Just a fun side job to let out my creative side. So far I have posted one design for a sign, but plan on adding more eventually.

Yesterday I sold my FIRST sign:) I opened my email and did a little happy dance on the spot.
So if you or anyone you know is getting married and want a welcome sign at your wedding let them know about me! I would appreciate it so much. And for the month of September when you order you can use coupon code: GRANDOPENING for 10% off!

MY BEST FRIEND

Yesterday Devan and I got to go to the wedding of one of my best friends since childhood. It was so beautiful and sweet and Katie looked GORGEOUS! It was the first wedding I have attended since getting married about three and a half months ago. And let me tell you it brought back memories and such great feelings!

Devan and I have such busy schedules lately that about half of our days are seeing each other for less than 1 hour when we are awake. It is great knowing that we have been so blessed to have these good things in our lives keeping us busy- like school and jobs- but it stinks not seeing him more sometimes. When we do have a night off together there is usually so much to get done that quality time together hasn't happened in a bit. But yesterday we got to spend the day together and it was great.

As I was sitting in Katie and Danny's sealing ceremony at the Salt Lake Temple it was so great to look back. On my wedding day I was so caught up and it was so new that I don't think I remember anything that was said that day in the temple. This time I just sat there listening and feeling the spirit and I felt so calm and happy for the gift of eternal marriage and families that the temple gives us. As the sealer was doing the ceremony he said a couple of things that really hit me that I am sure was said in some way on my wedding day, but i don't remember! Things I am resolved to do even better in:

1. Pray morning AND night with Devan. It is so important to have God in the center of our marriage.
2. Build Devan up and be his support.
3. Attend the temple and take advantage of ALL of the ways I can learn there.

After the temple Devan and I got to go to lunch together. We went to Red Robin and he was so excited about his food he wanted a picture. Its a little blurry as he kept moving and his eyes are shut, but I LOVE this picture. It is Devan to a T. He is such a goofball- a smart goofball- and I call him my nerd all of the time.

After Red Robin we visited my sister Taylor to give her some stuff and we got to stay and talk. It was so much fun and I really love my sisters. We miss Mckay so much and many times in the conversation we said "I wish I could tell Mckay...". Sisters are so great and I am so glad that I have them. Devan got a little bored with the conversation and fell asleep.. oops! haha

That evening topped it all off with a dinner at a beautiful greenhouse in Draper. Katie looked so happy as they were leaving and I just know they are so great together. All in all it was a fabulous day spent with my love celebrating Love.

It has only been three months married to my best friend, but let me tell you how great that three months has been! I can honestly say that I am happier than I have been in my entire life. Every morning I get to wake up to see my best friend by my side.  Every night I get to fall asleep next to him instead of having to say goodbye every day. And let me tell you- that is a great feeling.

Congrats Katie and Danny! We are so happy for you and know you will love this journey together!

BRIDALS? GROOMALS? WHATEVER YOU CALL THESE...

I am so in love with these pictures! They turned out so beautiful. Our photographer Lyndsey Fagerlund is amazing and I would definitely recommend her if anybody needs photos taken. Here is her website:)

When it came time to take Bridals I knew that I wanted Devan there. I just knew I did not want to hang up a ton of photos of me around our house and that I would love it so much more if Devan were there for most of the pictures. After all the wedding is for both of us! We took these photos at the Salt flats. We got EATEN by mosquitos... but seeing the photos it is definitely worth the itchiness!! It was hard to even narrow down the photos for this post because I love them all so much... so although it may seem like a ton of photos, trust me there could have been more:)

LOVE this one:)

I had my dress custom made because I knew exactly what I wanted and couldn't find anything that I loved even remotely at the bridal shops. I wanted BIG bling around the neckline, modest so that it isn't obvious it had to be altered, Aline shape, POCKETS! So I researched and found a great deal and I am so happy with my dress! I had it made by Penelope's Dresses in Salt Lake City. She was SO great to work with. If anybody wants to look at her website go here!

umm... hello? She is amazing. I love this photo. The lighting is gorgeous!

Another one of my Favorites!

I told Lyndsey how much I love soft lighting and she definitely delivered!

Can you see how much I love him? Because I do... a lot!

Another favorite
